Pillar I — Create

Create.

Stories born from survival, imagination, and the refusal to stop becoming.

Create is where Valerie Asher LLC begins: with stories, books, characters, worlds, and creative work shaped by lived experience.

The Origin of Enlighten

Written in motion. Built in survival.

Teodorie Agdeppa Ravara wrote the original concept for Enlighten during a season when she and Geordie were living in their car in Los Angeles while Geordie auditioned for acting jobs, went to school online, and Teodorie worked from home.

Their days often unfolded between libraries, laptops, auditions, museums, hiking trails, swimming pools, and whatever quiet corner gave them enough space to keep going. At night, they would watch movies in the car before sleeping, then wake up and begin again.

Many afternoons, they hiked to Griffith Observatory. Many evenings, they looked through telescopes, listened to local astronomers, asked questions, and learned beneath the Los Angeles sky. Those days were hard, but they were also full of curiosity, discipline, wonder, and story.

That is where Enlighten began: not in comfort, but in movement; not from having everything figured out, but from refusing to let uncertainty erase imagination.

From a parked car to a published story world.

Enlighten became the foundation for Setting Sun and a larger connected series carried forward by Geordie Ravara through Rianne’s World, Skylar’s World, Greg’s World, and Zack’s World.

Reason for Setting Sun

Why this story exists.

What became Setting Sun began while Teodorie and Geordie were living in Los Angeles, spending long days between libraries, auditions, online school, work, museums, hiking trails, public pools, and movie nights in the car.

Teodorie first wrote the original Enlighten concept from her heart, her memories, her nightmares, and the life they were surviving at the time. Geordie later read, reworked, and deepened the story, bringing their own voice, insight, character work, and creative instinct to the world that would become Setting Sun.

The story shifted, sharpened, and grew. What began as one mother’s written survival became a shared creative world, and eventually the foundation for The Enlighten Series.

That is why Setting Sun matters: it was born in motion, built in libraries, shaped in uncertainty, and rebuilt into a story honest enough to hold what they were really surviving.
